(Publisher:) ”Great houses in Sweden” describes many of the most magnificent dwellings in the country. Master photographer Massimo Listri and writer Daniel Rey, both from Italy, have been fascinated by Sweden during several trips and have depicted beautiful castles and stately buildings, both exteriors and interiors, in a personal and sometimes somewhat unexpected way. They have been inspired by history and legends, by idioms and art and by our kings’ interest in the characteristic style of each era. Through contact with the Court, they have been given access to rooms and halls that are not usually shown, and King Carl XVI Gustaf has also written a foreword for the book, which is published simultaneously in Swedish, English and German.

Castles and buildings depicted in the book: Drottningholm, Ekensberg, Elghammar, Gripsholm, Grönsöö, Haga, Hallwylska palatset, Hazeliusgården, Linnés Hammarby, Hälsingegården, Nordic Museum, Rosendal, Rosersberg, Skokloster, Stadshuset, Steninge, Stockholm Palace, Strömsholm, Sturehov, Tidö, Tullgarn, Ängsö castle.
